I have something special planned for this first ever figure drawing panel at Rock and Shock! (Hint: Think slasher summer time fun!)
This year's line up at Rock and Shock is pretty impressive. There's a ton of great people who will be there but I'm going to focus on whom I'm personally excited to see.
Let's start with music.
Although I was a fan of Skinny Puppy in my younger, angsty teenager years I'm more excited to meet Nivek due to his role as Pavi Largo in Repo: The Genetic Opera. This is one of my all time favorite movies & my favorite soundtrack to sing while drunk. He did a great job portraying the character. His chemistry with Bill Moseley, whom is another guest this year, was perfect. I've met Bill at Rock and Shock 2011 and am looking forward to seeing him again. He was super friendly and sweet.
Last year Derek Rook and I were guests at Detroit Fanfare. A couple of booths down from us was the infamous and very intimidating looking Derek Mears. He stopped by my booth a few times to chat and I realized he's one of the nicest guys I've met. But can you blame for being a little afraid at first?! If you haven't had the chance to meet Derek, don't miss your chance to at Rock and Shock.
The geek girl inside of me is totally freaking. Besides my love for horror, I love all things that have to do with fantasy- including The Lord of the Rings. This is why I'm really happy to see a rare convention appearance by Brad Dourif. Brad portrays the character Grima Wormtongue. He's also of course known for his roles in Child's Play and a few other horror flicks but besides LOTR, my favorite films of his is One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest where he played Billy Bibbit. If you haven't seen that movie yet, stop reading and go watch that shit now. It's a very great film.
Another one of our co-stars happens to be the one and only Kane Hodder, who will also be a guest at Rock and Shock. Rumor has it you will be able to see the premiere of the trailer that weekend!
